Organiser of the Ijaw/Itsekiri Peace Unity Cup, Comrade Sheriff Mulade has said the 3rd edition has gotten a proposed venues where all matches will be played.

 

Comrade Mulade who doubles as the National Coordinator for Center of Peace and Environment Justice , CEPEJ, said the proposed venues will include Warri North-(Gbokoda,Itsekiri town and Ogbinbiri).

 

Warri/South- (Ugbuwangwe,Agbassa primary school). And Warri- South/West(Ugbirodo(Itsekiri)Benikrukru(Ijaw).

He urged all professional clubs and league bodies to support the program to discover talented players.

 

“The fact that the tournament is to foster peace and unity in Delta state. It is also a breeding ground where future stars can be discovered”.

 

” We hope to select the best players to make up our own team soon”.

 

However, the just concluded 2nd edition was played all through 16th-29th November 2019. Ogidigben(Itsekiri) emerged champion of the 2019 edition with a 6-5 penalty kicks after a 1-1 regulation time draw against Okerekoko(Izon). While, Kunukunuma fc(Izon) lost 1-4 to Ajudiabo (Itsekiri) in the 3rd place.
