Chief Thomas Ereyitomi WARRI- The political leader of the Urhobo ethnic nationality in Warri, Chief Emmanuel Okumagba has stated that they are solidly behind the aspiration of the Chief Thomas Ereyitomi’ ambition to contest for the Warri Federal Constituency seat in the 2019 election to represent the Ijaws, Itsekiris and Urhobos that make up the constituency at the Green Chamber. Similarly, the Peoples Democracy Party, PDP, Chairman for oil-rich Warri South-West constituency inhabited whole by the Itsekiris and Ijaw ethnic groups, Mr. Johnbull Edema has on behalf of party faithfuls pledged their total support for Chief Ereyitomi in the race for the House of Reps seat come 2019 elections. Both leaders made the declaration in Warri when Chief Ereyitomi and his team paid a consultative visit to present himself and acquaint them of his intention to vie for the position in the 2019 general elections. According to Chief Okumagba, “as a leader in the party and a stakeholder in the politics of Warri and Delta state, I have implicit confidence in Chief Ereyitomi whom I have known for a long time”, explaining that though other aspirants will come to seek for his support and blessings and will certainly receive them as a father, Chief Ereyitomi should be rest assured that at the appropriate time “we shall sieve the grain from the shaft and do the needful”. Mr. Johnbull Edema on behalf of the Warri South West party faithful expressed delight that the aspirant is from the local government council area and a very serious minded and astute politician and businessman of no mean integrity, assuring that in spite of the plethora of aspirants for the coveted position in Abuja, they are willing to give him one hundred percent support to enable him realize his ambition of not only emerging as the PDP standard bearer in the primaries but also finally clinch the seat come 2019. Chief Thomas had earlier told the leaders and their teaming supporters that he has been a pillar of support to the party at all levels without gunning for any position, just as he has been generous to everyone that came his way irrespective of tribe in Warri, noting that he has even been instrumental to the political appointments of almost every party members in government today in the state today. He therefore declared that in this business of politicking, his concern is “about what he has done in the past for the people, what he has been doing for the people now and what he will do even better if he gets to the House of representatives come 2019” and appealed to the leaders to strongly tutor their delegates to the PDP primaries to vote for him because he has shown himself as a person to trust and support. |
