UGHELLI- While in reaction to insinuations in some quarters that Governor Okowa cannot make second tenure, asserted that no human being can stop Okowa from securing the second tenure mandate except God Almighty.
Comrade Francis Obule noted in his remarks that the bible made it emphatically clear in Romans 13:1 that “leaders are made by God…” that we should obey the government because God is the one who placed him there and there is no government anywhere that God has not placed in power, he added that no man can say for sure that he will stop the governor from securing his second tenure mandate come 2019
According to him, in the spirit of equity, fairness and justice I believe Delta north should be given the apple opportunity to complete their second tenure like Chief James Onanefe Ibori did in Delta central and Comrade Francis Obule, Chairman DESOPADEC Indigenous Contractors’ Forum speaking Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan in Delta south.
Speaking further, Comrade Obule contended that Governor Okowa has done so much for sapele and Okpe Local Government Areas where he hails from. He stressed that the SMART Agenda is gaining momentum especially in the area of provision of good roads and other infrastructures despite the dwindling resources coming to the state. He added that the man is putting a lot of smile on the faces of Deltans.
Comrade Obule hinted that he recently drove from Osubi to Okuokoko linking Agbarho, to my surprise; I discovered that Governor Okowa has tarred the whole of that area. He said in his words; “to me that is a big plus for Governor Okowa, I am actually urging the good people of Delta state to give him their maximum support in his second tenure bid come 2019”.
He however appealed to Governor Okowa not to neglect DESOPADEC stressing that, there is need for contractors who have completed their jobs to be paid up to date. While speaking on the recent award given to him by the prestigious premier University of Ibadan, Comrade Obule said; “Governor Okowa deserve the honour bestowed on him and it goes a long way to show that he is performing beside it is also an indication that the man Okowa is gifted and academically endowed to have been able to graduate as a medical doctor at the age of 22”.
Comrade Obule further observed that rather than casting aspersions, we should pray for our leaders to succeed because their success is our success, if they fail we are the ones that will bear the brunt; hence Nigerians should always pray for their leaders irrespective of tribe or religion. While admitting that anybody is free to aspire to the Office of Governor according to Karl Marx who defined politics as a game of class struggle to which any man or woman is free to aspire, he expressed optimism that Delta State is a stronghold of PDP which will not be easy to be uprooted he said.
Speaking in related development, Comrade Obule commended the management of PTI under the leadership of Prof. Sunny Iyuke who gave a well deserve honour of fellow of PTI to Chief Dr. Edwin Clark recently during the Institution’s convocation ceremony for hi laudable contribution to our nation’s building effort. Obule said pa Clark is a father who has paid his dues and must be given his due recognition at all times.
