A gubernatorial aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP ahead of the 2019 election, Engineer Musa Nashuni has dumped the party to join the ruling party, All Progressive Congress, APC in Katsina State.
Nashuni, was also the 2015 Gubernatorial candidate of the PDP who lost to Governor Aminu Bello Masari in the state.
Nashuni’s defection could not be unconnected to the crisis that engulfed the party in the state over a consensus arrangement to produce the party’s governorship flag bearer, Senator Yakubu Lado Danmarke.
Speaking at the warm reception to receive Nashuni at the Kankia local government Secretariat, Governor Aminu Bello Masari, described the defection of the PDP Gubernatorial aspirant, Musa Nashuni to the APC as another milestone achievement for the party.
Masari represented by Senator representing Katsina North senatorial district, Senator Ahmed Babba Kaita said the doors of the APC will always remain open to all that may want to join the party to move the state forward.
While assuring that, the party will extend equal treatment to the decampee and other loyalist of the party, he urged him to feel free to make necessary contributions to move the state to the next level.
Responding, Engr. Nashuni, said his decision to defect was not to seek any political position, but to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the party.
Nashuni however called on all his supporters across the state to follow suit by joining the All Progressive Congress, APC as he promised to do everything to reduce the PDP to nothing in the state
