As the political atmosphere gather more momentum ahead November 16th gubernatorial election in the state,former federal permanent secretary and governorship aspirant under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Amb. Boladei Igali has promised to provide not less than six hours of electricity supply to Yenagoa and its environs if elected as Governor.
Amb.Igali disclosed these to newsmen at the formal dedication of his campaign office to God in Yenagoa Bayelsa State capital.
According to him, Bayelsa with about 30% of the 186 billion standard cubic feet of gas deposit in Nigeria can provide electricity to all the communities in the state.
He said ” I don’t want to unveil everything but you know the law in Nigeria also allows component parts to generate their own power and we do not need to be part of the national power logjam.
”Bayelsa is a state that has about 30% of the 186 billion standard cubic feet of gas deposit in Nigeria which means we have enough gas to provide electricity to all corners. But I can say is that not more than six months after I become governor, Yenagoa will have nothing less than 6 hours of electricity and for the rest of the state within 2 years we are going to cover everywhere with electricity” he pledged.
The former Nigeria ambassador to Scandinavia also said he would build on the developmental projects of the incumbent, Gov. Seriake Dickson.
The Eniwari-born politician from Southern Ijaw will contend with governorship aspirants when his party conducts its primary on third of September,2019.
